Go for Gin was bred in Kentucky by Pamela Darmstadt duPont and owned by William J. Condren and Joseph Cornacchia. He was one of the few horses to beat Holy Bull, which he did in the 120th Kentucky Derby (G1) with Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron.
