With the $150,000 Noble Damsel field whittled down to Gerrymander and Sunset Louise, the one-mile off-the-turf test went off Oct. 8 at Belmont at the Big A to little fanfare, with the Gerrymander winning by a margin of 25 lengths.

When weekend rainstorms forced NYRA officials to take the Oct. 8 card off the turf, Book’em Danno took advantage of a short field and a switch to the main track with his third straight win in the $150,000 Futurity Stakes at Belmont at the Big A.

After breaking well and racing on the lead early, Fev Rover and jockey Javier Castellano yielded that advantage entering the far turn but came again to post a clear victory in the E. P. Taylor Stakes (G1T) Oct. 8 at Woodbine.
