Fillies and mares have the stakes stage to themselves Sept. 12 for closing day at Kentucky Downs. Three stakes are on tap – the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon, the Ainsworth for 2-year-old fillies, and the Music City for 3-year-old fillies.

The Road to the Kentucky Derby will begin Sept. 18, but horses trained by the man who has won the most editions of the Run for the Roses will not be eligible to receive the qualifying points awarded by participation in those races.
